The board that cracked from never being sealed, not from age
A lot of Peculiar's fences are only a few years old, put up raw while the owner planned to seal it 'once it dries out' — and that day tends to keep slipping. Unsealed cedar takes the sun and the moisture directly, and it cracks, cups, and grays years before it should. We swap the worst-split boards and seal the whole run at the same visit, so the next few years don't repeat this one.
