A finish that fades, never peels
The single biggest choice on a Liberty fence isn't the color — it's penetrating versus film. A penetrating semi-transparent soaks into the grain and wears by slowly fading, so re-coating is a wash and a fresh coat. A solid film sits on the surface, looks sharp for a season, then peels under freeze-thaw and has to be scraped. Everything we lay in Liberty penetrates, so the fence never reaches the scrape-it-all-off stage.
