No post rot in the tree shade
The repair we answer most in Mission is a wood post gone soft at the ground line — the mature trees that make these blocks nice also keep the soil damp long after an open suburb has dried out, and damp soil rots cedar. Vinyl removes the failure point outright: the load-bearing post is set in concrete with a galvanized steel core, and there's no wood at grade for the shade-held moisture to work on. It's the one Mission problem that vinyl simply doesn't have.
